Assembly We design our Pergola kits with ease of assembly a
top priority. All the parts are prepared and labeled ready
for an easy assembly.
Boots The boot adds
visual weight to the bottom of a leg. It dresses up
the leg and conceals the black plastic foot plate.
Custom
Drapery Achieve privacy with our custom drapery. Choose
color, style, size and accessories. Fashioned daily
by Diann Baldwin.
Finishing:
Painting, Staining, & Sealing We recommend Olympic Maximum Sealer and we apply
it here at the factory, but if you prefer white paint
or stain then that is something that you can do prior
to assembly.
Joinery Every member is dado cut on top and bottom so the
parts just fall together in an orderly fashion. The
accuracy of the cuts is critical. Old world joinery
preformed by a wood cutting robot.

Lattice Baldwin Pergolas prides itself on its attention to
detail. Our lattice contains vertical and horizontal pieces
midlapped for a flush finish. Our lattice is amazinly
strong and durable - it will last a lifetime!
Lintels
& Dentil Work The lintel is a 4x4 which fits into a dado cut in
two legs. Above the lintel is the dentil work (teeth).
Lintels allow for the option of rope lighting.
Materials We use Western Red Cedar and Stainless Steel Fasteners.
Western Red Cedar is very decay resistant and our bolts
will never rust. Our top quality materials allow a Baldwin
Pergola to last fifty years or more.
Rafters
& Purlins Rafters are the large 2" x 6" framing
members. Purlins are the small 2" x 3" trellis
members.
Roman
Columns Our columns are made the old fashioned way, using
real Western Red Cedar. The boards are not finger jointed,
they are real boards. Our columns qualify for use on
any historic restoration project.
Shipping A big part of what we do is carefully packing the
pergola parts into a large wooden crate for shipment.
We use Yellow Freight as our delivery service.
Wiring
& Lights There is nothing more relaxing than spending an
evening under the soft glow of a pergola with lights!
Our Garden Room, Star Gazer, and pergolas with dentil
work can be outfitted with rope lights.
