While the boot adds balance
and visual weight to the bottom of a the post, it's main
purpose is to conceal the mounting bracket.
Boots are an option that can be added to Post and Beam,
Garden Room, Pathway, Hot Tub and Star Gazer pergolas.
A boot is essentially an assembly of Western Red Cedar
trim boards that fit loosely around the post. They are
channeled out on their inner surfaces to make room for
the mounting bracket. Nothing prevents the boot from being
lifted vertically.
