![]() Refer to your site plan to find the exact locations of your posts. Drill the concrete, insert a lag shield and tighten a lag screw into the shield. This "pin" fits up into a hole drilled in the bottoms of the legs. |
![]() Locate the ledger according to the plans. The ledger is notched to receive the rafters. |
![]() The ledger gets screwed directly to the house with three inch stainless steel screws. We pre-drill the under the notch for the rafter. When the rafter drops into the joint, it covers the screw. No exposed fasteners. |
![]() This is a two-piece ledger, which attaches to the house. We drill the holes right under the rafter notches so the fastners are concealed when the rafters are installed. If a pergola is more than 20 feet wide, we use a half lap joint for strength and appearance. |

![]() Connect all the legs and gussets, then stand the assembly straight up. This part requires extra helpers. The rafters drop into the notches in the ledger and entablature. Screw the rafter to the ledger. |
![]() Purlins are the long narrow strips on top and they notch down into the rafters. Each intersection gets a screw. |
![]() Cedar plugs are included so you can cover the screw heads. This beautiful attached post and beam pergola is complete! |
